Massachusetts AG Sends Letters to Marsh Clients

The Boston Globe (6/30/05) has a report that Massachusetts Attorney General Tom Reilly’s office has sent out as many as 300 letters to Marsh & McLennan clients advising them to “take your time deciding whether to sign onto the settlement agreement” between the insurance broker and the office of the New York attorney general. The deadline to sign onto the settlement is September 20, 2005. Massachusetts investigators continue to review Marsh & McLennan files, suggesting that the attorney general may be anticipating additional charges against the company.
