New FloodSmart Agent Site Launched

On January 1, 2006, the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) launched a new password-protected agents-only section of FloodSmart.gov. The site features valuable new content and improved access to existing agent materials. To ensure that agents can access all of the materials available on the new site, NFIP is asking that users set up accounts through their registration process.

The new secure site includes information for agents including easy links to education and training programs, information about map modernization projects in specific areas, and marketing and advertising programs to help agents grow business, including the Agent Co-Op and Agent Referral Programs. The new site also houses information about helping clients through the claims-filing process and how to position yourself as a spokesperson after a flood.

To register, visit www.floodsmart.gov/agent, click on “Register Now” and follow the directions to fill out the online registration form. Afterward, each visitor can create a permanent password for access to the secure site at any time.
