NFIP Has Major Push for Flood Insurance

Edward Connor, acting federal insurance administrator for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), on Oct. 7 issued an open letter asking for assistance in encouraging flood insurance Protection.

“Americans continue to believe that unless flood insurance is required by their lender or, in some cases, even when it is required, they don’t need it,” wrote Connor. “They could not be more wrong. In response to these serious misperceptions, FEMA recently issued an open letter to the American public and another to insurance agents (links to open letters can be found below). But much more needs to be done, and accomplishing it requires your help. I am issuing you this personal challenge to do all you can to encourage flood insurance protection for those you serve.”
