National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) officials have asked us to let PIA affiliates and members know that a brochure is now available regarding mandatory flood insurance training as required in Section 207 of the Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2004. Printed copies of “Six Ways State Insurance Commissioners Can Support Agent and Consumer Education and Training” are now ready to order from the FEMA Warehouse. You can call 1-800-480-2520, and ask for copies of F-682. Alternately, a print-ready pdf of the brochure is available. FEMA officials say they hope the brochure will be helpful in explaining the critical need for state adoption of mandatory flood insurance training.
