Rep. Royce Tries to Drum Up Support for OFC

There’s a brief report being circulated quoting a prime House backer of OFC, Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.) talking up the possibility of Bush Administration support for it. Royce said the Administration “is inescapably coming to the same conclusion” that a federal role is necessary, adding “From what I’ve heard,” the OFC will be part of that report.

Since Treasury is not talking, we can assume that Rep. Royce is, at minimum, trying to whip up support for his bill. He may or may not have an inside track to know what will happen.
