PIA National President Robert Page along with Bill McGraw, Co-chair of the PIA National Natural Catastrophe Working Group, met on May 12 with James Lee Witt, former Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The meeting with Witt and his senior staff took place at the PIA National Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. They discussed the insurance aspect’s of Protecting America, Witt’s organization that is working for a comprehensive national plan for natural catastrophes. Members of the Natural Catastrophe Working Group have also held discussions with others regarding natural catastrophe proposals, including the Reinsurance Association of America (RAA), The Hartford and Travelers.
