Kansas PIA Extends Fundraising for Tornado Victims

The Kansas PIA has extended its charitable fundraising effort to help the victims of the May 4 killer tornado that devastated the small farming community of Greensburg, Kansas. The effort will now go on through the end of June.

Kansas PIA has designated the Greensburg Tornado Relief Fund to support. The fund is handled by the Mayor of Greensburg and the City Administrator, with no administrative fees. All donations are tax deductible. Kansas PIA will collect checks made out to the fund and present them to officials of the charity. A donation form has been sent to Kansas PIA members.

The tornado destroyed 95% of the farm town of 1,400. It obliterated Main Street and flattened residential neighborhoods, killing at least nine people and leveling or damaging most buildings, including a PIA member agency.  Two Kansas PIA member agencies were directly affected by the tornado, Corns & Ballard Agency and Peoples Insurance.
