PIA Op-ed Criticizing NOAA is Published in the Miami Herald

 

An opinion article written by PIA National Vice President of Communications Ted Besesparis was published last week in the Miami Herald. The article faults the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for spending taxpayer dollars in an attempt to “re-brand” all hurricane information as coming from NOAA, while diminishing the public profile of the National Hurricane Center and cutting hurricane-related research.
