PIA of Wisconsin Warns on Identity Theft

The dangers of identity theft hit home recently for one member of the PIA family. Heather Falk, member benefits coordinator at PIA of Wisconsin, recently checked her credit report and discovered it contained a mortgage for a house in Ohio she was unaware of. That wasn’t all. “I was shocked. There were pages upon pages of credit activity.”

Since Falk's experience, Ron Von Haden, executive vice president of PIA of Wisconsin, offers free credit reports as an employee benefit. “For a small fee I can save my employees the pain and agony of worrying about this," he said. “It certainly helps their productivity because even when they're not using company time to clean up the mess, they're thinking about it.”

Falk’s experience and Ron’s warnings about identity theft are in the Wisconsin State Journal (10/4/04).
