The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) recently processed its 100 millionth licensing transaction through its Gateway tool, the communication network that electronically links state insurance departments with the entities they regulate. The Gateway facilitates compliance activities such as new licensing, license renewals, appointments/terminations and address changes between producers and state insurance regulators. The Gateway is designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the state licensing process among all parties through automation, standardization and reciprocity. “Hitting this benchmark is a key milestone for NIPR and demonstrates that our products and services are vital to the daily operations of the insurance industry,” said NIPR Executive Director Maryellen Waggoner.
