PIA National Leaders Meet With Top Insurance Company Leaders

PIA National leaders, through the activities of The PIA Partnership, met earlier this month with leaders from eight major insurance companies to focus on developing more customers from the Gen Y age group along with greater leverage of the internet by agencies.

PIA National President Jon Spalding and President-elect Brian Marino participated in the meeting. Companies represented included Motorists, State Auto, Harleysville, The Hartford, MetLife Auto & Home, Travelers, Erie, and Encompass. The meeting was held in preparation for the announcement of The Partnership’s newest deliverable for agents –  “Reaching Gen Y and Making the Internet Work for You.”

The meeting also featured a two-hour luncheon and focus group with 15 PIA member agents, designed to help provide input and guidance for The Partnership’s next deliverable focusing on customer retention and clear communication of the added-value customers receive as they deal with a Professional Insurance Agent.

“We all know it’s about much more than just price,” said Spalding at the conclusion of the meeting. “Our work through The Partnership is focusing in on ways to help our message better resonate with our customers.”

PIA President-elect Brian Marino congratulated both the agents in attendance along with the company representatives for engaging in this important dialogue. “We know that we can accomplish more when we work together on common challenges. This is what PIA is all about and our constructive approach to important issues is reflected in the activities of The Partnership.”
