Data Protective Services™
Laptop Protective Services is now Data Protective Services!
PIA, in conjunction with MobileSecure, recently introduced Laptop Protective Services. Functions have now been added to cover Desktop computers. The new product is Data Protective Services.
Your customer relationships are the lifeblood of your business. You want to make sure that you handle your customer’s data with care. Now there are general business data security regulations, enacted in 45 states¹, for safeguarding customers’ personal information? Having a data security plan is not enough. You need to be able to continuously audit, monitor and enforce compliance with that plan. You need to be able to do this in a way that is cost effective and non disruptive to your agency operations.
To help address this problem, PIA has partnered with MobileSecure to provide insurance agents with a program called Data Protective Services™. This solution helps agencies take a proactive stance in managing their data security risk by allowing agencies to:
Audit Files – Remotely identify and search a database of files on your computers and understand the potential data exposure risk while maintaining a recorded history of the location of files containing confidential data.
Monitor compliance with your agency’s data security policy and the whereabouts of sensitive information. Ensure that it is not being stored on the wrong computers or accessed by unauthorized personnel.
Enforce – Take action based on the results of monitoring and audits…even remotely “lock down” any computer if you determine that it contains files in violation of your data security plan or if you suspect that it is being accessed by unauthorized personnel. Restore access once the threat has passed.
Don’t think this can happen to you? Think again! Data breaches on PCs are a regular occurrence and can result in fines. One in five laptops is either lost or stolen each year. With a set up in as little as 30 minutes, Data Protective Services brings together the power of mobility and peace of mind of security. PIA strongly encourages you to review your data security plans and to consider implementing DPS as one risk mitigation tool.
