Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Thomas Sullivan announced April 8 that his agency would fine several Geico units a total of $177,500 for an extensive list of infractions. Sullivan said his department penalized Geico subsidiaries for improper rating, claim delays, loss of use, and relying on unlicensed adjusters among other infractions. The fined subsidiaries, all based in Maryland, include Geico Casualty Co., Geico General Insurance Co., Geico Indemnity Co., and Government Employees Insurance Co. The company complied with the stipulation and final order, and will submit a compliance report to the commissioner within 90 days.
