On Monday, December 19, PIA National staff members Pat Borowski and Kellie Bray met with the new Administrator of the USDA's Risk Management Agency, Eldon Gould. Administrator Gould was appointed to head the RMA by United States Department of Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns one month ago.

The purpose of Monday's meeting was to welcome Administrator Gould and discuss ways in which PIA can continue to work in coordination with RMA for the benefit of agents, farmers and the crop insurance industry.  Specific areas of discussion included conflict of interest issues, premium reduction plans and the outlook for 2006.  The Administrator shared that all government programs, especially those that involve private sector, are being evaluated and economies are being sought so it is imperative that we work as a team.

In addition to Administrator Gould, PIA staff also met with Jim Callan, Associate Administrator, and Brent Doane, Special Assistant to the Administrator.
