PIA will attend a meeting sponsored by National Crop Insurance Services October 19 in Kansas City, Missouri, to discuss the development of a campaign to combat crop insurance program vulnerability associated with fraud, waste and abuse.  Discussion of these issues will be important as the farm bill process approaches.

Representatives from RMA including Deputy Administrator for Compliance Michael Hand, Strategic Data Acquisition and Analysis Director Garland Westmoreland and representatives from the Center for Agribusiness Excellence (CAE) at Tarleton State University will be in attendance.  RMA and CAE will present findings from their data mining efforts and their presentations will be the basis for group dialogue leading to the discussion of strategies for combating crop insurance program vulnerability and abuse.

PIA National will have representatives attending this meeting.  Please send any comments you have regarding potential fraud, waste and abuse as it relates to the crop insurance program to Kellie Bray at kelliebr@pianet.org. These comments will be compiled for use during the October 19 meeting.
