The total 2010 Multi Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) written premium was $7.57 billion among 16 companies. The top two companies [RCIS and Rain & Hail] wrote 45.55% [$3,448,860,000]. The third largest writer was NAU [$807,640,485], Great American [$657,729,799], ARMtech [$528,197,702], Producers Ag [$474,150,877], Farmers Mutual, [$316,338,137], John Deere Risk [$289,853,166], Agro National [$285,414,140], and Heartland Crop [$230,364,500] rounding out the top ten.

For the second consecutive year, North Dakota is ranked #1 in total MPCI premiums. Texas was second, followed by Iowa in third. Rounding out the top five were Illinois and Kansas.
