Bill Murphy, administrator of the USDA’s Risk Management Agency, has announced his retirement effective at the end of this year. In his role, Murphy has supervised the Federal Crop Insurance Program (FCIP).

“PIA has enjoyed an excellent relationship with Bill Murphy over the years,” said Dan Weber, Chair of the PIA National Crop Insurance Working Group. “We appreciate all of his work on behalf of America’s farmers and crop insurance agents and we wish him well in his retirement.” Brandon Willis, Senior Advisor to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, has been named Acting Administrator of RMA.
