PIA Comments on Crop Requested by Department of Agriculture
PIA recently provided comments to the Department of Agriculture regarding its request for comments on crop insurance data requirements. PIA noted that the data collection required by the Department of Agriculture is essential to the livelihoods of crop insurance agents and brokers. For them, the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation’s (FCIC) data collection requirements are necessary to ensure reporting accuracy in crop acreage, location, yields, etc., all of which ensure the subsequent accuracy of FCIC payments. PIA’s comments can be read here.
PIA continues to monitor legislative and regulatory activity pertaining to crop insurance and will continue to advocate for the crop insurance program going forward.
