Imagine flood waters coursing through a family room. Imagine losing furniture, important documents, treasured heirlooms, and sentimental belongings. Imagine a phone call from a client asking if he's covered. With flood insurance from PIA National's flood insurance partner, The Hartford, he will be.

Help your clients and prospects be protected by telling them these facts*:

  • America's most common natural disaster is flooding. Anyone living in America is at some level of risk Almost 25% of claims filed annually were for properties in low to moderate risk zones.
  • Most homeowners insurance policies don't provide flood protection. A separate flood policy is needed, and for federally-backed mortgages, it may be required by lenders.
  • The value of flood insurance is priceless, but here are some figures to consider. Between 1999 and 2008, flood insurance policyholders received claim payments amounting to $27.6 billion, with the average payment being about $45,000.
  • Counting on federal disaster assistance to cover potential losses, rather than buying flood insurance, could be a bad decision. Assistance is not guaranteed, and if emergency funds are received, it will likely be a loan that must be repaid - a more costly option than buying insurance.
Being motivated to buy flood insurance by news or weather reports that forecast flooding may not help. It takes 30 days for a policy to become active.
  • Begin now to talk to clients and prospects about flood insurance from The Hartford. We'll help you build your reputation as a reliable flood insurance expert, meet your E&O responsibilities, earn competitive commissions, serve your market with easy policy processing and quick, accurate claim management, and more.
