While March brings the promise of warmer weather and longer days, many communities still face the risk of flooding. Just four years ago, early spring storms swept through almost every state from Pennsylvania to Texas, causing flooding in most. In Missouri, paid losses reached over $13 million and policyholders in Texas filed over 3,000 paid losses totaling more than $127 million.

Now is an excellent time for you to remind your residential and commercial customers about the value of flood insurance. Visit Agents.FloodSmart.gov for resources that will help you illustrate the costs and causes of flooding and tools to support your marketing efforts. These tools include FloodSmart’s direct mail and co-op advertising programs and interactive, shareable tools you can post to your own Web site.
