Wayne White, PIA National Director from Arkansas, has written an op-ed on the critical need for flood insurance reform that has been published in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. White recounts the damage that flooding has done in Arkansas and urges his state’s two U.S. Senators to pass a reform bill that includes a long-tern extension.

“If something doesn’t change soon, a real crises could develop,” writes White. “Right now the program is only two billion dollars from its borrowing cap from Treasury. If it breaches the cap – which could happen after just one more bad hurricane along the Gulf Coast – it could quickly run out of money and the entire nation’s flood insurance system could collapse.” You can read Wayne White’s entire op-ed here.
