Registration is now open for the 2015 National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Adjuster Certification Presentation, which is mandatory for new and renewing adjusters.

Adjusters seeking to renew certification must attend an NFIP Adjuster Certification Presentation. Adjusters seeking to become certified must also attend an NFIP Presentation and apply for certification with the NFIP Bureau and Statistical Agent. For information and a schedule of upcoming presentations, including links for online registration, see this NFIP bulletin.

For more information about the adjuster certification process or to contact NFIP iService, please go to www.nfipiservice.com/adj_cert.html.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway for major changes to the NFIP which will be effective April 1, 2015. While there have been many changes to the flood insurance program in recent years, the upcoming changes will be more significant and complex. The April 1 changes are due to both the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act (HFIAA) of 2014 and the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012 (BW-12).

PIA will continue to share all the information/education opportunities being offered by FEMA/NFIP, FloodSmart, as well as PIA's flood partner, Hartford WYO.
