The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) 90-day review timeline for Superstorm Sandy claims that were reopened due to possible underpayment has passed. The Sandy Claims Review program, which closed to new applicants on Oct. 15 after a 30-day extension, has only paid additional funds to fewer than 200 people. About 17,078 of the more than 29,000 people inquiring about the review program were found eligible, according to FEMA, but only 1,378 had completed the review process, with 786 cases closed out and 190 checks issued.
