The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) just launched new online flood insurance independent study courses, available 24 hours a day. Courses take 1 to 3 hours to complete. The courses do not provide Continuing Education credits for insurance producer licensing but can be used to qualify for free leads through FloodSmart’s Agent Referral Program.

Agent Referral Program Benefits

FloodSmart sends more than 6 million direct mail pieces to prospective customers every year, each listing a sample of nearby agents, and provides referrals to the more than 100,000 visitors to FloodSmart.gov each month. For questions about FloodSmart’s Agent Referral Program, contact support@nfipfloodsmart.com.

Sample Available Courses:

Basic Agent Tutorial (IS-1101) — flood insurance fundamentals; covers all training topics mandated by the Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2004.

Theory of Elevation Rating (IS-1102) — advanced topics in elevation rating for Zones A and V.
