In a wide-ranging interview with Best’s News Service, Alabama State Rep. Greg Wren, president-elect of the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL), said that state lawmakers tracking insurance matters will soon start pressing state regulators and federal officials to provide a seat at the table when discussing issues of importance for all three. For example, Wren said, industry officials can start expecting NCOIL to be more vocal in seeking collaboration with state and federal regulators about new Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act laws and regulations. He said those efforts will begin as NCOIL meets July 11-14 in Philadelphia.

David M. Eppstein, Esq., assistant vice president of regulatory affairs for PIA National, will attend the NCOIL meetings to represent PIA agent interests on a variety of issues.
