According to a new poll, less than 25 percent of uninsured Americans who intend to obtain health insurance via new insurance exchanges under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) have actually been to an exchange web site. When asked if they had been to any government health insurance web site since they launched on Oct. 1, just 22 percent of the uninsured intending to use the exchanges said “yes,” a Nov. 8 Gallup poll found.

These figures, however, indicate a slight increase over a similar poll conducted by the non-partisan Commonwealth Fund, which found 17 percent of potentially eligible adults reported visiting the marketplaces in October to shop for a health plan. Among uninsured Americans overall, just 18 percent told Gallup they have been to any exchange website. More>>
