Although consumers may receive phone calls from insurance companies offering help in signing them up for health insurance, Kansas Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger says they should be cautious given the number of scams that have emerged. She recommends that consumers initiate such discussions and contact someone they trust. “There are a number of folks out there that have been trained and I would want people to make sure they’re working with someone who can demonstrate that they’re legitimate,” she said. Praeger says if you need help, you can call your insurance agent.
