Although the first open enrollment period in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) healthcare marketplaces is now closed, enrollment in the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) continues on a monthly basis throughout 2014.

To ensure agents and brokers have the latest information on SHOP and other health reform topics impacting small businesses, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Small Business Administration (SBA) and Small Business Majority invite you to participate in the Affordable Care Act 101 webinar series occurring throughout the month of May. This high-level presentation will be most useful to those agents and brokers assisting small employers, but it is open to all interested agents, brokers and small businesses.

Each week during the series, agents, brokers, and small business owners can learn the basics of the ACA and how to enroll in SHOP Marketplaces that are available for enrollment all year long. Other topics to be discussed will include small group market reforms; the expanded small business healthcare tax credit available only through SHOP beginning in 2014; and employer shared responsibility provisions, set to begin in 2015.
