The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced that Vermonters with insurance may still qualify for grants from the agency due to losses caused by Tropical Storm Irene
October 25, 2011

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced that Vermonters with insurance may still qualify for grants from the agency due to losses caused by Tropical Storm Irene. Property owners across the state are being encouraged to register with FEMA before the Nov. 15 deadline to get help with disaster-related losses that might not be covered by insurance. However, property owners must provide proof of what their insurance covers, because the federal agency cannot make grants for losses that are already covered. If residents have questions regarding their eligibility, they are encouraged to call the FEMA Helpline or go to a disaster recovery center in the state.
