Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak says the value of insured losses from May’s series of storms totals nearly $250 million and will likely continue to rise, potentially exceeding $2 billion. “We are continuing to come up with ways to address consumer concerns and provide united support,” Doak said in a statement. “The victims can rest assured that we will be here to help until the last claim is filed.” The Insurance Department plans a series of outreach events in coming weeks to explain the claims process and help storm victims. In the meantime, consumers can call the department's consumer assistance division at (800) 522-0071 or go online to http://www.ok.gov/oid/disasterrecovery.html.
