The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) came out on Monday March 16, 2015, with a request for information on Superstorm Sandy claims from two weeks in 2012. NFIP is requesting this information be submitted from all Write Your Own Companies (WYO) and the NFIP Direct Servicing Agent (DSA). They want this on a short deadline, by this coming Friday March 20, 2015. This is part of the ongoing effort to address concerns about the settlement of Superstorm Sandy claims involving engineering services.

What It Means to Agents: This request is not being made of PIA agents who sell flood insurance; we are simply making you aware that this request of WYOs is afoot. Also note that this particular FEMA request is very narrow in scope, involving claims with dates of loss from October 27, 2012 through November 6, 2012.
