NAIC Vice President and New Hampshire Insurance Commissioner Roger Sevigny sent PIA President Donna Pile a letter stating his intention to convene a group of interested parties with the goal of increasing producer-licensing uniformity and to invite PIA to participate in the in the NAIC/Industry Producer Licensing Coalition.

The letter states that the NAIC's membership has identified producer-licensing uniformity as one of its key strategic issues and priorities.  Their goal is to ensure the effectiveness of state-based regulation and avoid duplication of effort and/or lack of uniformity that may drive higher costs for providers, producers and consumers.

The letter goes on to say that the NAIC desires a strong coalition with the national producer associations as part of this process and PIA will play an integral part.

The inaugural meeting of this coalition will take place on Wednesday, June 20 at the NAIC's Government Relations office in Washington D.C.  We are excited about this effort undertaken by NAIC leadership and we look forward to working with them to improve the licensing process for our members.
