The NAIC has been focused on streamlining business entity licensing over the last few months, holding a series of meetings and conference calls on the issue. The Producer Licensing Task Force, chaired by Linda Hall (AK), has been working with industry and other regulators to see what business entity uniform standards can be agreed upon. PIA National has been working with regulators and interested parties on this project and we are pleased to announce some initial progress. During a call on November 10, Director Hall called for votes on a series of recommendations that can be found here.

Although the regulators did not adopt all of the uniformity standards, the progress made so far should mean that independent insurance agencies will have a much easier time obtaining and maintaining non-resident business entity licenses. We will be working with our affiliates and all interested parties to implement these uniform guidelines across the country.
