Florida Governor Jeb Bush (R) has signed a new law that limits the use of credit reports and credit scores by carriers selling homeowners and auto insurance. SB-40-A prohibits insurance companies from denying coverage or raising an insured's rates based, in whole or in part, on the absence of or insufficient credit history, past due medical bills, the death of a spouse or place of residence.
