Congress is moving relatively slowly on insurance-related issues. While one major bill has been enacted dealing with flood insurance, action to renew the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) is still pending. At the same time, in a classic example of bait-and-switch, President Obama is proposing to roll back a boost to crop insurance that was included in the Farm Bill that he just signed. PIA’s Ted Besesparis assesses the minimal congressional action on insurance issues in an article in the June issue of the National Underwriter.
