Congressional staff say it is likely that bills to reauthorize and extend the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) will see floor votes in the U.S. Senate and House this week.

The Senate is moving forward on consideration of a bill to reauthorize TRIA for seven years, S. 2244. Late Tuesday July 15, Congressional staff told us the Senate is likely to consider the bill this week. On the House side, members of Congress have told us a vote on a House bill will likely also occur this week. Congressional leaders are sticking to their goal of sending a bill to President Obama before Congress leaves for recess in early August.
