WASHINGTON, March 31, 2004 - The Professional Insurance Agents Political Action Committee (PIAPAC) has named Carter A. "Cap" Peterson of Wayne, Nebraska as its 2004 PIAPAC Person of the Year. Peterson is a national director of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) and a board member of PIAPAC.

"As a past recipient of this award, it gives me great pleasure to present this honor to a very deserving individual," said PIAPAC Chairman Robert B. Gyle III of New Fairfield, Connecticut. "We are indeed quite fortunate to count Cap Peterson as a member of the PIAPAC family. His dedication and enthusiasm are appreciated by everyone."

"In any organization there are those whose passion runs deep, but who don't seek out the spotlight," Gyle said. "As the member of PIAPAC who nominated him so aptly noted, Cap is a quiet leader who supports causes not for the recognition, but because they are something he believes in fervently."

The award was presented during the annual PIAPAC gala fundraising dinner held March 25, 2004 in Washington, D.C. Representative Scott Garrett (R-New Jersey) delivered the keynote address at the event, held following the 2004 PIA Federal Legislative Summit. Representative Rick Renzi (R-Arizona), a former PIA member, also spoke.
