PIAPAC Person of the Year and President's Circle Members Honored

The Professional Insurance Agents Political Action Committee (PIAPAC) held its fundraising dinner on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at The Monocle Restaurant on Capitol Hill.  This annual event marked the finale of the 2004 PIA Federal Legislative Summit that included congressional visits throughout the day by PIA members.

Representatives Scott Garrett (R-New Jersey) and Rep. Rick Renzi (R-Arizona), a former PIA member, addressed the group at the event.  Both Representatives shared experiences from their previous careers in the insurance industry as well as stories from their first term in the U.S. House of Representatives.  Garrett and Renzi were both elected in 2002 and serve on the House Financial Services Committee.

Carter A. "Cap" Peterson of Wayne, Nebraska was named the 2004 Person of the Year for PIAPAC. Peterson is Nebraska's national director of the PIA and a longtime supporter of PIAPAC.

PIAPAC Chairman Robert B. Gyle, III gave special recognition to members of PIAPAC's President's Circle.  The President's Circle is comprised of PIA members who contributed $1,000 or more to PIAPAC in 2003.

There were 8 President's Circle members in 2003: Peter Crecion of California, Donald H. Flanders of New Hampshire, Steven J. Harter of Missouri, Martha Hix of Florida, Jay Levy of New York, Robert Page of Louisiana, Ray Peretti of Washington, and Carter A. Peterson of Nebraska.
