Home decorating maven Martha Stewart's company is seeking $3.7 million in reimbursement of legal fees from its directors and officers insurance policy. The company told the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in a filing that it would reimburse its namesake for a portion of her defense expenses. Stewart filed a claim with her company for the cost of defending against an allegation of which she was not convicted, making false and misleading statements intended to influence the price of her company's stock. Stewart served five months in federal prison in West Virginia and must serve an additional two years of supervised release, after she was convicted of conspiracy, obstruction and making false statements to federal investigators.
