There are no new leads in the case of the man who vanished from the winter meetings of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).  Chicago police are still searching for 31-year-old Matthew Soumakis of Springfield, Massachusetts. Soumakis, manager of an insurance industry software support servicer, was last seen on the morning of Monday December 5.

Chicago Police Sergeant Robert Battalini of the Special Victims Unit says investigators and family members watched a videotape shot by a Sheraton hotel security camera 'in which an adult male was identified by his cousin and friends positively as the missing Matthew Soumakis, and he was observed walking out of the hotel towards Illinois Street at approximately 7:49 in the morning of Monday the 5th." An employee of a riverfront bar says he believes Soumakis drank there on the previous night for several hours with another man. But police aren't sure.

Acting on the wishes of Soumakis' family, the NAIC has issued an alert. Anyone who may have seen Soumakis is asked to call the special victims unit of the Chicago Police at 312-744-8266.
