Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry (D) has selected longtime Tulsa insurance executive Kim Holland to be the state's new insurance commissioner. Holland has spent the last two decades with Team Insurance Group of Tulsa. She also has served as a board member for the Oklahoma Health Care Authority, the state agency that runs Oklahoma Medicaid programs.

Holland succeeds Carroll Fisher, who resigned in September 2004, two days before the start of impeachment proceedings. In the articles of impeachment, he was accused of neglect of duty, incompetence and corruption in office. Fisher is awaiting trial on criminal charges.
