PIA's first annual Political Involvement and Advocacy Month is moving into its final week - but you still have time to add your voice!

PIA has proclaimed August as a month-long period of political involvement devoted to enhanced in-district lobbying of federal lawmakers and candidates. August 9 served as one focal point for this effort, while the entire month was designated as PIA Month for Congressional contacts and political involvement.

Many PIA members have taken time to communicate with their elected officials about issues of importance to professional independent insurance agents. PIA members met with Members of Congress back at home in district offices, attended political events and sent email messages through PIA's online Grassroots Action Center

There's still time for you to participate. We realize that some PIA members won't be able to do in-person meetings, so we've posted a message that you can send to those Members of Congress you can't visit, right from your computer. Just log on to PIA National's Online Grassroots Action Center.

A complete wrap-up of the inaugural Political Involvement and Advocacy Month will be featured in the September issue of PIA Connection. Thanks to all of you who participated! And mark your calendars now for next year's PIA month as well as District Lobbying Day, August 8, 2007!
