Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman has named Ann Frohman, a 15-year veteran of the Nebraska Department of Insurance, as director, effective immediately. Frohman has served as acting director since October and as deputy director since January 2004. She replaces former director L. Tim Wagner, who died of a stroke in October at the age of 65. From 1990 to 1996, Frohman served as a staff attorney for the department where she provided legal counsel on property/casualty rate and form matters, marketing practices, consumer issues, unauthorized insurance activities and corporate organizational and holding company issues.

"I look forward to building upon the work of my predecessor, L. Tim Wagner, in promoting the three pillars of insurance regulation: insurer solvency, competitive markets and policyholders' protections," Frohman said in a statement.
