The Professional Insurance Agents Political Action Committee (PIAPAC) named Harper Young of Greenville, Mississippi PIAPAC Person of the Year for 2006. The presentation was made March 29 in Washington, D.C., during the annual PIAPAC fundraising dinner.

A longtime political action committee supporter and professional insurance agent advocate, Young is completing his term as PIAPAC Vice Chairman and was recently elected as the PIAPAC Committee Chairman for 2007-2010.

Young has served on the Mississippi PIA Board for 27 years and currently serves as Mississippi Legislative Chairman. Young served as national director for nine years (1992-2001) including terms as National Secretary/Treasurer. Young was awarded Mississippi Agent of the Year in1984 by his peers.
