PIA members are preparing to convene on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. on April 1 and 2, 2009 for the 27th Annual PIA Federal Legislative Summit. The Main Street insurance agents will be on Capitol Hill as Congress receives President Obama's proposals for a major overhaul of the nation's financial regulatory system. The proposals are slated to be unveiled by April 2, in time for the start of the G-20 economic summit in London. President Obama will attend the G-20 summit. The timing is perfect for professional independent insurance agents to come to Washington, D.C. and tell their elected representatives that state regulation of insurance works well, and should be preserved in any system-wide reforms enacted by Congress.

"This year more than any other, agents have more at stake in the federal legislative process," said PIA National President Kenneth R. Auerbach, Esq. "I urge PIA members throughout the nation to join their colleagues at the 2009 PIA Federal Legislative Summit." Make your commitment now to attend the 2009 PIA Federal Legislative Summit.
