A pastor has been arrested for the murder of an insurance agent in South Carolina who had been an attendee at the suspect's church. David K. Love, former pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Independence, S.C., was jailed for the alleged murder of Randy Stone, according to the Kansas City Star. Stone, a former Farmers' insurance agent who was in the process of transitioning to being an independent agent, was found shot to death in his Independence office March 31. Love, who left the church in April, was being held in jail in Spartanburg, S.C., the newspaper said.

Court records show Love was indicted on charges of first-degree murder by a grand jury in Missouri on November 5. Before he went on the lam, Love delivered a eulogy at Stone's funeral service. The Kansas City Star reported that "Love spoke of their friendship, developed over the ten years the Stone family attended New Hope."
