In 2009, nearly three-quarters of consumers researched insurance products and services online. U.S. consumers submitted requests for 38.8 million online auto insurance quotes and purchased a record 2.8 million policies online. And, 35% of consumers who hadn't yet purchased auto insurance policies online said they would likely do so in the future.

This means that agent and broker websites are no longer optional. A top-flight 24/7 online presence is essential for agents and brokers to remain competitive in today's environment. An article in Best's Review magazine looks at some of the ways agents and brokers are designing their websites to turn "surfers" into customers.
