Two slain fraud investigators who had served the Louisiana Department of Insurance have been memorialized with a plaque in the department's main lobby. The plaque was unveiled by Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon recently during ceremonies at the department. He praised Kim Sledge and Rhett Jeansonne, who were killed in the line of duty in June, for doing “a very significant thing” in their jobs. Donelon said the plaque and memorial program was initiated by department staff who sought to honor their co-workers, representing “a task of absolute love” for the memory of Sledge and Jeansonne.
