Walmart, seeking to expand its healthcare services, will likely soon offer a range of medical services from basic prevention to the management of chronic conditions. Walmart spokeswoman Tara Raddohl confirmed the store’s proposal, but did not provide any details. However, the company issued a 14-page request asking for potential partner companies' input on several items, including managing and monitoring patients with chronic and expensive healthcare conditions. If the giant retailer does expand health services in its in-store clinics, it could lower the cost for some patients and increase access to primary care services, according to health policy experts.
