An insurance policy may become a key clue in the ongoing investigation of a Maryland woman who disappeared in Aruba. Gary Giordano, a suspect tied to the disappearance of Robyn Gardner, 35, tried to redeem a life insurance policy that could be worth $1.5 million, according to an Associated Press report. A separate traveler's insurance policy also may be at issue, as accounts suggest Giordano contacted the travel insurance company just days after Gardner went missing.

Aruban authorities have said they intend to pursue criminal charges against Giordano. An Aruban judge on Monday ordered that a Gaithersburg man will be detained for 16 additional days while authorities investigate the woman's disappearance.
